Wearever Ceramic Cookware Review: The 2021 Guide
Ceramic pots and pans are a common feature in both cookware catalogs and kitchen stores over the last few years.
These products are advertised as being nonstick, cleanable, affordable, safe, durable, and scratch-resistant. However, I have also heard of ceramic cookware that is fragile and easily scratched.
There are many well-made, robust sets, even though some nonstick ceramics can be cheap and low-quality.
Wearever Pure Living cookware is beautiful and well-made. It also includes all the necessary pans and pots to get you started. This is a good choice if you’re looking for ceramic cookware.
It’s rare to find it. This is why I recommend the Green Pan Valencia Cookware Set.

Ceramic cookware is made from a metal core, usually heavy gauge or hard-anodized aluminium. It then has a ceramic coating. Ceramic cookware is increasing in popularity due to its nonstick properties.
Nonstick cookware sets include pots and pans that are dishwasher-safe, heat evenly distributed, and stain and scratch resistant.
Ceramic nonstick cookware is ideal for home cooking, even though it may not be tough enough to use in a professional kitchen.
Ceramic cookware may be more expensive than stainless steel in some instances. But, good quality ceramic is worth the investment.
It will last many years if you take care of your ceramic nonstick cookware set by drying it, keeping it dry and storing it in a well-ventilated cupboard.
Review of Ceramic Cookware
Wearever Pure Living ceramic nonstick cookware is advertised as “the only cookware that you will ever need,” which is quite bold!
The 10 piece set I am reviewing is available, but there are also 15-piece sets. Update: Both sets have been discontinued at the time of this update.
The set looks great on first inspection. Ceramic nonstick cookware comes in a rich cherry red glaze with heat-resistant silicone handles.
It’s a must-have in my kitchen set:
- Glass lids are great for reducing splatter, and allow me to inspect the food without lifting it.
- I can hang pieces with ease using the wide, open handles.
- Here are four out of five essential items that I look for when buying a set of cookware:
A Dutch oven with a cover
a sauce pan,
A frying pan is essential.
a saute pan.
Unfortunately, the fifth, the trusted steamer, can only be found in the 15-piece set.
This colorful Pure Living Ceramic cookware has received positive reviews from satisfied customers.
Wearever nonstick cookware is easy to clean, according to many customers. The silicone handles are soft and sturdy and have impressed many. They are noted for their ability to cook meat with a consistent sear.
Many people also praise the uniform heat distribution these beautiful red pots/pans achieve. Many people praise the cookware’s durability, even though I have my reservations. So far, so good!
Let’s heat up the stove, and let this Wearever Pure Living nonstick ceramic cookware set go through its paces!
Appearance
Wearever Ceramic Cookware is available in red or gold.
Both are appealing, as well as the white interiors of the pans. White interiors are more susceptible to staining. Some Bar Keeper’s Friends can help remove stains from cookware.
Safe, non-toxic coating
Traditional nonstick coatings like Teflon used potentially dangerous chemicals in the manufacturing process. Many people are still cautious about using it today.
Although I think modern Teflon can be used safely in food, I understand why some people may prefer an alternative.
These nonstick ceramic coating pieces can be a great substitute. These nonstick ceramic coating pieces do not contain Teflon’s active ingredient PTFE and are both environmentally and healthy.
You don’t have to worry about lead and cadmium leaching from your food at high temperatures.
A new storage solution
My friends who avoid Teflon for cooking prefer to not store leftovers in plastic containers.
Lower-quality containers can cause a loss in the quality of food. Glass and stainless steel are better choices for the environment.
Ceramic cookware can be used to preserve any food leftovers for the next day. The ceramic coating is nonstick and does not allow for any unwanted metals or toxic substances to leach into the food.
Make sure the pan is cool completely before you put it in the fridge!
However, I do not recommend any ceramic cookware for food storage. It’s best to avoid using ceramic cookware, and instead use stainless steel or glass containers.
Healthy
Ceramic cooking is an excellent way to cook healthy food. The non-stick coating helps to prevent food from sticking to the ceramic. Additionally, the slick coating reduces the need for oil in cooking.
Use a small amount of oil to coat the ceramic and then wipe it off with a piece kitchen roll.
Nonstick ceramic is great for cooking delicate foods like fish and chicken. You can indulge a little if you are so careful with your oil!
Easy to clean
These nonstick pieces of cookware are much easier to clean than stainless steel or cast iron cookware. Non-stick surfaces can be easily cleaned with warm soapy water.
A little boiling water can quickly take out any burnt-on bits if you happen to overcook your food. You won’t even need to know, thankfully!
This trick is for stubborn and dried-on foods
These are just a few of the tips that will help you keep your ceramic pans in good condition.
Some people report that their pans lose their nonstick properties over time. I have yet to experience this.
This could be due to microscopic food particles accumulating on top of the nonstick. To restore the nonstick, you can try cleaning your pans using Barkeeper’s Friend or baking soda.
Dishwasher safe
The ceramic cookware set Wearever Ceramic Cookware is dishwasher-safe, but some reviewers mention that it has reduced their lifespan.
Handwashing nonstick cookware is a good idea. If you’re in a hurry, you can always throw the pans in the dishwasher. Make sure that the ceramic nonstick inner surface doesn’t touch anything.
Wearever Cookware Downsides
After reading this extensive list of benefits, it’s possible to conclude that the Wearever Pure Living cookware sets are truly the only set you will ever need.
But not so fast! There are some things you need to know before you decide to throw out all your cast iron and stainless steel cookware.
Induction hobs
Wearever ceramic cookware will not work in an induction oven. It can be used on any other surface, but it is not compatible with induction cookers.
Scratch-resistant?
Ceramic cookware and metallic utensils should not be mixed, according to me. The cooking surfaces can be scratched by metal tools, which could cause some ceramic to get into the food.
These pans are marketed by Wearever as being stain- and scratch-resistant. Some reviewers mention that metal stirrers or spoons can cause damage to their cookware. (Also the spoon and slotted teaspoon included in the set are made of plastic. This only reinforces my original thought!)
I recommend that you always use these spoons and spatulas for ceramic cookware if you, like me have a large collection of plastic spatulas and wooden spoons.
However, if you don’t have a large utensil collection, you may need to upgrade some of your tools.
Lightweight
It was difficult to decide where to place this feature.
One, the ceramic is light enough that I can move my pans quickly around the kitchen with the silicone handles.
Some reviewers also noted that the ceramic frying pans are too thin and lightweight to withstand heat, in some cases literally! There have been several reports that the aluminum construction could warp on the stove when heated. Although I haven’t experienced it with my set, it is something to keep in mind.
Oven-safe?
The Wearever Pure Living ceramic cookware set is oven-safe, but it’s important to remember that it can only be used at 350°F (175°C)
While this may be sufficient for you, I cook dishes at higher temperatures.
You can always use other cookware, but this set is a good idea.
These pans can withstand heat up to 570°F (300°C on the stovetop).
Alternatives to Wearever’s cookware set
Tfal Ceramic Cookware 14-piece Set
The 14-piece set, which is dishwasher-safe and scratch-resistant, is definitely worth looking at.
Two additional cooking utensils, and a charming little nonstick ceramic one-egg pan are welcome additions.
The PTFE-free T-fal Pans are also equipped with Thermo-Spot technology. The pan’s optimum cooking temperature is indicated by a red circle in its center.
These pans can be used with metal utensils. They are designed to resist stains, scratches, and to be safe. Metal utensils can be dangerous when used with nonstick cookware.
The fry pans included in this cookware set are my favorite. The aluminum base is heavy-gauge and allows for even heat distribution.

GreenPan Valencia
This Green Pan nonstick cookware set by Green Pan is a great choice if you don’t want to spend a lot. This set has all the benefits of ceramic cookware, but it also leaves out some big problems.
It can be used on induction hobs and is oven-safe to 600°F (315°C).
These premium benefits will come at a premium, so be aware.
Coating
The Valencia collection’s interior is made with thermalon, which is diamond-infused. It is scratch-resistant.
The Valencia pans’ ceramic coating is safe for metal utensils. However, I recommend not using any metal implements with this cookware.
Cleaning and Performance
The Valencia collection is one of the few GreenPan sets that is induction-compatible. (Do you need induction cookware? Other induction-compatible pans have also been reviewed by me.
Although these pans advertise being dishwasher safe, in actuality they will be more damaged if you use the dishwasher. It is best to wash your pans by hand, if possible. You can wash them by hand, but you should not put them in the dishwasher.
These cookware sets are not the most expensive, but they’re well worth the price.
