T-Fal vs Farberware: Product Reviews
Ceramic Cookware
Farberware Glide CopperSlide Ceramic Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set
This Farberware cooking set contains 12 pieces:
- 1-quart (.95 liters) covered saucepan
- 2-quart (1.89 liters) covered saucepan
- Dutch oven with lid, 5-quart (4.73 Liters)
- Deep frying pan, 8.5 inches (21.59 cm).
- Covered skillet 10-inch (25.4 cm).
- Slotted spoon, slotted turner and pasta fork
Farberware pans have an aluminum core and a copper-colored ceramic surface. It includes glass lids, stay-cool plastic handles and lid knobs.
Although it is not compatible for induction cooktops this set can be used with them. It is lightweight which makes it easy to lift. However, it is more vulnerable to warping and damage.
To protect the pan, it is a good idea for these to be used at a low heat or medium heat setting.
It can be used in an oven up to 350°F (177°C), however, it is not safe enough for most oven dishes.
Let’s have a look at the claims of the Manufacturer (with all the usual skepticism, of course!) ):
Pros
- Lightweight
- Ceramic nonstick surface
- Dishwasher-safe
- Oven safe, but only to 350°F/177°C
Cons
- Induction is not compatible
- Metal utensils are not safe
- Thinner pans are more susceptible to damage
Farberware Glide ceramic nonstick Frying Pan
Farberware offers this 4 quart (3.79 Liters) deep frying skillet for those who want one. It measures 10 inches in diameter (25.4 cm), making it ideal for cooking one-pot meals.
This pan is also available in the Glide series but is not part of the 12-piece set.
This pan was loved by customers for its ability to release food. Customers also loved the helper handle that makes it easy to lift.
It was cooled at 350°F (177°C) by some.
One reviewer correctly guessed that the pan would perform better on an electrical cooktop than a gas stove. It is easier to cook food on a gas stove because of the thinner material.
Pros
- Includes helper handle
- High sides
- Ceramic coating that is non-stick
Cons
- Induction is not compatible
- Limitated oven use (safe to 350°F/177°C).
- Thin
T-fal Initiatives Ceramic 14 Piece Cookware Set
T-fal also offers a nonstick ceramic cookware set. Let’s look at their claims regarding ceramic cookware:
This 14-piece set is available in striking blue or golden exterior. It includes the following:
- 8.5 inch (21.59 cm).
- 10.5 inch (26.67 cm), frying pan

- Four nylon cooking tools
The T-fal 12-piece Farberware set is nearly identical in terms of pieces. The only difference is that the T-fal cookware sets include an extra cooking tool as well as an additional frying pan.
The T-fal pans and pots have a thick-gauge aluminum core that ensures even heat distribution. Nonstick ceramic surface made of gray ceramic is PTFE-free (Teflon active ingredients). It is designed to prevent sticking.
T-fal claims that this cookware can withstand temperatures of up to 570°F (300°C), but it doesn’t include oven temperatures. The oven can only heat this set to 350°F (177°C), just like the Farberware set.
This T-fal set cannot be used with induction stoves. However, it can be used on all stove types. These pans can also be washed in a dishwasher for easy cleaning.
Overall, T-fal cookware was well received by customers. However, they frequently mentioned how easy it was to scratch the pots.
Pros
- Attractive colors
- Dishwasher-safe
- Lightweight
- Ceramic nonstick coating
- Oven-safe, but only to 350degF/177degC
Cons
- It’s easy to scratch

Tfal Specialty Ceramic 5-Quart Jumbo-Cooker
This specialty ceramic large pan can hold 5 quarts (4.73 L) of food, making it ideal for families. The same aluminum construction is used as the set. It also features a ceramic nonstick coating.
This piece, like the rest, has the T-fal Thermo Spot heat indicator. It turns red when the pan is sufficiently heated. The pan can be lifted using the helper handle, while the vented lid lets you monitor the food as it cooks.
Customers complained about a raised center. All the oil and food would slide off the cooking surface and cook unevenly.
Pros
- Assisting the client
- Vented glass lids
Cons
- It’s easy to scratch
- Cooking in a raised center.
Ceramic Cookware Verdict: 14-Piece set by T-fal Initiatives
Commonalities
- Ceramic non-stick ceramics that are PTFE-free (Teflon free)
- Oven safe to 350°F (177°C)

- T-Fal comes with an additional cooking tool and a fry pan.
- T-Fal offers two color options: Farberware one and T-Fal one.
- T-Fal’s interior is white. Farberware’s is copper-colored

The Farberware and the T-fal ceramic cookware set are very similar in terms of features and performance. However, I prefer the T-fal set. I love the color options and the extra 11-inch (27.94cm) skillet.
The set would be my choice over any of the individual pans. You get better reviews and more bang for your bucks.
Stainless Steel Cookware

The T-fal triply bottom set with induction compatibility is oven-safe to 500°F (260°C). This cookware can be washed in the dishwasher.
However, users had problems with the set’s performance. A sticker at the bottom of the pan was also complained about by many users. It was also extremely difficult to remove.

The Tfal Excite set, which is available in a variety of cookware options, also includes a line nonstick cookware. It is available in three attractive colors. It only contains eight pieces of actual cookware, even though it has 14 pieces. It contains:

This nonstick coating allows food to be released easily. However, it does contain Teflon. These pots and pans, according to Farberware, are safe for use with metal utensils. However, I’d advise caution.

These Tfal pans come with the Thermo Spot indicator and are transparent for monitoring.

Differences
- T-Fal sets and Farberware are dishwasher-safe, but I recommend handwashing to prevent stickiness.

Farberware will generally offer less durability and better performance than T-fal. The Tfal Ultimate Hard-Anodized 17 Piece Set is my top choice. It is affordable, can withstand higher oven temperatures, and is more durable.
Farberware Millennium Stainless Steel Cookware is the best choice if you are looking for stainless steel. It is more popular than the T-fal stainless steel set and has better performance.
Finally, TFal Initiatives is a great choice for high-quality, Teflon free ceramic cookware.
