Uncooked rice is sufficient for 4 people. There are many factors that can influence the amount of rice you eat, but generally, you need to use 4 cups water for 2 cups (uncooked) of rice.

How much water is needed for xx cups of rice or rice? The general rule
The rule of thumb is 1 – 2-3; 1 cup uncooked rice to 2 1/2 cups water equals 3 cups rice
This rule is applicable: How much water do you need to cook 3 cups of rice?
Uncooked rice needs 3 cups. Cooked rice requires 6 cups. You will get 9 cups. 9 cups of rice cooked should be enough to feed 6 people.
Notice how I used cups in this example. Cups may not be the universal measure of volume, but it doesn’t matter. It is important to measure volume and the ratio.
Feel free to use grams if you prefer to measure volume in millilitres. These ratios are good for volume and not weight.
Uncooked and Cooked Cups of Rice
Uncooked rice has a volume three times that of cooked rice. It is crucial to know whether the rice you are using in your recipes or for cooking purposes, so that you can accurately determine its type.
One person will need 1/2 cup of cooked rice, provided you don’t eat rice.
The same principle applies to cooked rice. 1 1/2 cups is enough for one person.
Types Of Rice
The type of rice you cook and the purpose for which you cook it can impact how much rice you add.
All the most popular rice types, including jasmine, long grain, and basmati, follow the same rule: 2 cups water to 1 cup rice.
Sushi rice is usually made from short-grain rice. It needs to be sticky and not fluffy. To achieve this, you will need less water. For every cup of uncooked sushi, I recommend using between 1 and 1 1/4 cups water. It will become fluffy and not sticky if you use too much water. This is a big problem with sushi.
For wild rice or risotto, however, you will need to use more water than usual. When making risotto, I recommend using 3 cups water per cup of uncooked rice.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a recipe, but it is worth having. These ratios may not be meaningful because some recipes use weight for rice. If the recipe calls for it, you can weigh the rice rather than measuring the volume. However, this is not acceptable if the ratios are used in this article.
Rice cookers retain water well so you might not need as much water. Follow the instructions on your rice cooker or, if you have a Japanese rice cooker, the screen.
